The Beatles

 - It’s been a big couple of days for releases. Not only did our new favourite album, ‘Only Built For Cuban Linx II’  just come out in the US (a NZ release is apparently not on the books), but we had ‘The Blueprint 3′ (which Rolling Stone are predicting will hit number one) and The Beatles remasters and Rock Band combo. Phew. Yoko Ono today let it slip to Britain’s Sky News that The Beatles back catalogue will be released on iTunes. The news has since been removed from the news network but the internet is flooding with rumours that the iTunes announcement will be made officially tomorrow. Maybe not just yet though. MSNBC reports that EMI are denying the deal. “Conversations between Apple and EMI are ongoing and we look forward to the day when we can make the music available digitally. But it’s not tomorrow,” said global catalog president, Ernesto Schmitt.

 - Billboard reports that Lil’ Wayne’s North American 2008-09 tours have grossed $42 million. The figure comes from the 78 shows Wayne played since December 2008, which drew 804,000 people. It’s rare for a hip-hop artist to gross so much from touring but Billboard says that it will most likely land Weezy F. Baby on the year-end list for the top 25 grossing tours. Oh and apparently ‘Rebirth’ is coming out on November 24. Yeah right.

 - John Lydon has announced that Public Image Ltd will reform for a five date British tour. Original members Jah Wobble and Keith Levene will not be involved in the reunion and we are not too sure that we want any part of it either. We’d rather not hear ‘First Issue’ 31 years after the fact. Still, ‘That What Is Not’ is all your’s.
