Sir Howard Morrison Dies

I’m really sick of typing up this sort of news but Sir Howard Morrison passed away early this morning. Needless to say, he was a legend in his own right. Born in Rotorua in 1935, Morrison formed the Howard Morrison Quartet in 1958 and the groups debut album, ‘Battle Of Waikato/My Old Man’s An All Black’ went on to sell 78,000 copies. Today that’s still a number very few artists in New Zealand will ever make. Once going solo, Morrison dominated New Zealand music and became a household name, especially after releasing ‘How Great Thou Art.’ Tributes have been flowing in all day and his funeral is set to take place on Tuesday morning at 11am.
