They were exactly going to pick Only God Can Judge Me but we’re still pretty amazed anyway. The Vatican have compiled a playlist of 12 songs for MySpace Music and sitting at number seven is 2Pac’s Changes. A quote on the MySpace page says, “This playlist is a perfect mix of classical, world and contemporary music. The genres are very different from each other, but all these artists share the aim to reach the heart of good minded people.” Changes hit the top spot in the US and reached the top five in New Zealand when it was released in 1998, two years after Shakur had died. The song is also the only posthumously released hip-hop song to get a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance. The playlist was put together by Father Giulio Neroni and also features songs from Muse and Fleet Foxes. Who knows if he really listens to this stuff but Changes has had the most plays on the Vatican playlist clocking in so far at almost five million. So there you have it – people do still use MySpace.
