The Last Glimpse of The London Bar

That grainy cellphone picture on the left is Auckland’s London Bar’s last call. The venue well-known to many drinkers and – more to the point – jazz musicians, closed it’s doors for the final time last month after it was announced that the building was soon to be occupied by the Bangkok Restaurant & Bar. Yesterday, the bright red signs went up and we managed to capture a shot of the action before London Bar’s historic signage was covered up for good. Well done Auckland – Queen Street is officially that much worse.
