Aw Man, Bandicoot Broke Up

So it turns out that Bandicoot’s show on Saturday night at Whammy Bar with The Crackhouse 5 and Wilberforces, turned out to be their last one. They announced it on stage that night and stated in a post on their labels website, “Hello. We have split. Nothing lasts forever. Regards Bandicoot.” Bummer. The split comes six months after their performance at the Big Day Out and the release of their second EP, Jurassic Warfare (their first Happy Talking EP can be downloaded for free from here). They had a penchant for covering songs like The Mint Chicks Licking Letters and Snoop Dogg’s Drop It Like It’s Hot and were responsible for injecting a whole lot of fun and energy into the Auckland music scene. Saying that, it’s probably a good idea to keep in mind that they are all 15 (maybe 16 now) and still worry about things like high school and stuff. Form some other bands soon you guys!
