Black Keys Pull Out Of Big Day Out

The Black Keys, who were scheduled to touch down in Auckland on Friday for the first Big Day Out show announced that they have pulled out of the festival. The band, who also had a Wellington show scheduled at The Opera House cited exhaustion and in a statement said, “An arduous year of touring and promotion has drained the band and necessitated time off. Dan and Patrick wish to thank all of you who have shown such incredible support since the release of ‘Brothers’ and have helped make the album a success.”

BDO promoters have filled the Black Keys 5.30 slot on the Green Stage this Friday with local band Kora while The Greenhornes, who were scheduled to open for the Black Keys in Wellington have announced a separate show on Thursday night. Details below.
