Six60 Have The Number One Song In The Country

Six60 have made it to number one in the New Zealand charts with a song that was released four months ago. ‘Rise Up 2.0′ debuted on the top 40 chart back in early September at number five before dropping completely out of the charts a few weeks later. When the track first entered the chart, it did so without any radio play – the song charted based on sales alone (a rare exception that was helped by the band having over 24,000 fans on Facebook at the time.

They now have almost 45,000 fans. In mid-December the song re-entered the chart at number 26 and over six weeks, it slowly crawled its way back into the top five, and this week it sits easily at number one. The band are the first local artists to have a number one single since Brooke Fraser did in October last year with ‘Something In The Water’.
