Mixtape: Curren$y and Alchemist “Covert Coup”

“Obviously, I guess it would be redundant to say we were smoking weed, we made the music very high..It definitely is the audio equivalent of that; you’ll definitely feel high after you listen to it”. That’s Alchemist describing his and Curren$y’s new mixtape Covert Coup to MTV, as if we needed the explanation. The truth is though, there’s much to this than that. Sure this one’s sleepy but it’s also as lush as anything from his Pilot Talk series of studio releases, and just as entertaining. Plenty of punchlines and Curren$y also gives space to  excellent verses from Freddie Gibbs, Smoke DZA and even Prodigy on the not-quite half an hour mixtape. [Download it via Nah Right]
