“1991: The Year Punk Broke” Finally Getting A DVD Release

Sonic Youth have announced that they have restored and remastered the classic documentary 1991: The Year Punk Broke and will release it on DVD this September. The documentary follows Sonic Youth on a European tour and has performances from Dinosaur Jr., Babes In Toyland, the Ramones and Nirvana as well as backstage footage from the tour. The DVD will also feature 65 minutes of new material including live footage of Nirvana and Sonic Youth. [via RS]
