Girls frontman Christopher Owens has announced that he is leaving the band. As Pitchfork point out, Owens took to Twitter to make it public:
“Dear all, This may come as a surprise to many & has been an issue of much thought for me. My decision was not easy to make. I am leaving Girls. My reasons at this time are personal. I need to do this in order to progress. I will continue to write & record music. More will be announced soon. I thank you all for everything. Sincerely–Christopher”.
Girls were in Auckland back in January as part of the Laneway festival. They released two records, Album and Father, Son, Holy Ghost.
It’s cos the TV show stole the name and he got rl mad. Next up he’s going to make a band called “Shirts” or some shit. That should hold the problem off.
