Taite 2014’s ‘Independent Music NZ Classic Record’ Award Announced

IMNZ have announced that this year’s ‘Independent Music NZ Classic Record’ is going to the compilation album AK.79. The award, which “aims to acknowledge New Zealand’s rich history of making fine albums that continue to inspire us and define who we are” will be presented at the ceremony for the Taite Music Prize next Wednesday in Auckland. It’ll be presented by Kerry Buchanan (of The Terrorways) and will be accepted by the head of Ripper Records, Bryan Staff – last year’s classic record award winner was the Gordons’ self-titled album.

Here’s ‘True Love’ from The Scavengers.
