Lorde Wins Taite Music Prize For “Pure Heroine”


Last night at an event in Auckland, Lorde was named the winner of this year’s Taite Music Prize, beating out the other seven nominees for the best album from a New Zealand artist in 2013. Unable to make it along on the night, she accepted the award via a pre-recorded video from Las Vegas and offered to split the $10,000 prize money and studio time among her fellow nominees.

Also presented on the night was the Independent Music NZ Classic Record which went to AK.79.
