Hey! This rap-rock amalgamation thing could actually work out. Well, maybe. This is Raekwon we’re talking about here – someone who easily makes a song seem twice as good just from appearing on it. If you didn’t already know it, Blackroc is a project featuring the Black Keys collaborating with hip-hop artists such as RZA, Q-Tip, Pharoahe Monch, Jim Jones, Noe, Ludacris and a whole lot more. - Monsters of Folk’s debut album is streaming in it’s entirety via their MySpace page. The supergroup, which consists of Conor Oberst, Jim James and M. Ward, will release their album stateside on September 22. Thanks to Stereogum for the heads up.

- The blues/rock duo, Black Keys have announced that they are releasing a collaboration album with appearances from hip-hop stars like Q-Tip, Mos Def, Raekwon, Jim Jones and Ludacris. Could it be a disaster waiting to happen? Apparently Damon Dash is also in on the whole thing, which means that it could actually get a fair push commericially. Dame said of his involvement with the Black Keys, “At least after being in the game this long you don’t wanna just be doing it for the money, that becomes obvious.” ‘Blackroc’ will be released on November 27 and you can hear the first results of it over at Pitchfork.
