Hey! This rap-rock amalgamation thing could actually work out. Well, maybe. This is Raekwon we’re talking about here – someone who easily makes a song seem twice as good just from appearing on it. If you didn’t already know it, Blackroc is a project featuring the Black Keys collaborating with hip-hop artists such as RZA, Q-Tip, Pharoahe Monch, Jim Jones, Noe, Ludacris and a whole lot more. What do you get when you put The Black Keys in a room with a selection of New York’s better MC’s? We’re hoping, a really good album. Sure this could simply be another hybrid project gone wrong, and yes the name is rather generic, but judging by the names (Mos Def, Pharoah Monch, Ludacris, Q-Tip, Raekwon), the footage, and overall sound presented in this teaser, I’m banking on it being something special.

Could this mean that he’s finally got something right? I mean, besides that film where Kevin Bacon played a paedophile on house arrest, which seems to be his only achievement since you-know-who gave him his marching orders. And we take it that Dame Dash Music Group never got off the ground, but, hell, a doco and complimentary album will do fine for now.

The BlakRoc Project drops 27th November in the States. No word on a local release date as of yet.
